Transparency and accountability

Providing humanitarian assistance and development aid is a privilege. Setting and maintaining high standards of performance, for ourselves as well as for the organisations we work with, is essential to living up to the responsibility that comes with this privilege.

These standards are part and parcel of all our contractual relationships, be it with organisations in the field, suppliers, or other parties.

We like to ensure compliance through a culture of accountability. This means we are transparent about mutual rights and obligations and our criteria when selecting partners, projects, and suppliers. Our policies are imposed on everyone we work with.

Annual reports and accounts

Cordaid continues to make a positive impact around the world. Many of you participated in this mission, and we are very grateful for that. With great pride, we would like to share how, in 2023, we implemented 236 projects in 35 countries, together with our 393 funding and implementing partners.

Let’s look at a few examples: over 17 million people benefitted from our healthcare interventions, more than half a million people received humanitarian assistance, and we supported as many to improve their livelihoods.

We appreciate your support. Let’s make each year better than the last.

Despite Cordaid’s progress in advancing impact and transformation this year, we have not yet been able to finalise the 2023 financial statements and obtain the auditor’s report. We strive to provide further information about the findings and possible improvements whenever possible. Read more through the link below.

Core Humanitarian Standard

Cordaid is a member of the CHS Alliance and is committed to implementing the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS).

This globally recognised voluntary standard sets out commitments that organisations and individuals involved in humanitarian responses can use to improve the quality and effectiveness of the assistance they provide.

The CHS places communities and people affected by crises at the centre of humanitarian action and describes the essential elements of principled, accountable, high-quality humanitarian assistance.
