Senegal

Cordaid has worked in Senegal for decades. Our focus areas there were food security, sustainable livelihoods, market systems, digitalisation, youth employment, and inclusive finance for youth and women.

We have phased out our activities in Senegal and are currently not implementing any projects in the country.

WHAT WE DID IN SENEGAL

Food systems
We improved access to finance and markets for smallholder farmers. We worked with farmer organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen value chains. This allows farmers to access finance, markets, inputs, and agricultural skills training.

We worked with companies providing new technology solutions and we had a partnership with a crowdfunding platform that is financing producer organisations and farmers to improve their businesses.

We promoted climate-resilient agricultural practices and supported solutions that reduce and mitigate climate change effects.

WHERE WE WORKED IN SENEGAL

We implemented our programmes in 11 regions: Thiès, Louga, Saint Louis, Matam, Kaolack, Diourbel, Fatick, Kaffrine, Tambacounda, Kolda and Sédhiou.
