While Gazans cautiously embrace this first step towards peace, Caritas Jerusalem’s message resonates with hope and determination: ‘This is a chance to save lives and restore the human dignity that was nearly crushed under the horrors of war.’

With improved access to Gaza now possible, Caritas Jerusalem is gearing up to intensify its efforts. The organisation’s work extends beyond reconstructing physical infrastructure—it focuses on healing communities and empowering individuals to reclaim their dignity and rebuild their lives.

‘Rebuilding is not only about structures,’ explains Anton Asfar, Secretary General of Caritas Jerusalem. ‘It’s about rebuilding human beings, preserving their dignity, and giving them the chance to live the life they deserve.’

Committed to addressing immediate and long-term needs

In collaboration with local and international partners, Caritas Jerusalem is committed to addressing the immediate and long-term needs of those who have been affected most by the war, ensuring that every step forward is rooted in solidarity and humanity.
